Mission
Since its founding more than 45 years ago, the Pan-Mass Challenge has successfully melded support from committed riders, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and individual contributors. All are essential to the PMC's goal and model: to attain maximum fundraising efficiency while increasing our annual gift. Our hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.

Spokes in the Wheel
In addition to the PMC Winter Cycle, the Pan-Mass Challenge holds events throughout the year, including PMC weekend, PMC Unpaved, and PMC Kids Rides. 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar from each of these events goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

A History of the PMC Winter Cycle
Founded more than a decade ago, the PMC Winter Cycle has evolved and adapted over the years.
The Resolution by the PMC
Started as The Resolution by the PMC in 2016, the event was held around New Year's Day at EverybodyFights in Fort Point for its first two years. Bikes were set up in the boxing ring of this gym, and spin sessions were held over the course of two days.

The Move to Fenway Park
In 2018, the event was renamed and moved to Fenway Park, where it has been held ever since. The event was held inside Fenway Park in State Street Pavilion for its first few years there but then had to adapt during the pandemic.
Outdoors During the Pandemic
In 2021 and 2022, the PMC Winter Cycle became an outdoor event. Bikes were outside on the warning track around the field and on the concourse around the park. For these two years, the PMC Winter Cycle wasn't even held in the winter! The 2021 event was in June, and the 2022 event was in April.

521 Overlook at Fenway Park
Since 2023, the PMC Winter Cycle has been held in 521 Overlook at Fenway Park, an indoor space with full windows that open for beautiful views of the park. This is one of the newest spaces at Fenway Park, having opened in 2022.
